This fabulous 6m model of the LS 8-18 is produced by Horst Ebert in full carbon/glass to 1/3rd scale.

The wings are incredibly strong with a scale fork style wing joiner.
The profile at the root is 11.5% thick with 2.5% camber, a fine choice for optimum thermal and speed performance.
Also in his range is a 1/4 scale LS 8 to the same design plus models from Rowing LS4, LS5, LS6.

Still the best unit on the market the Picolario talk is a fantastic tool for catching thermals. An audio tone lets you know exactly what your model and the air around it is doing. With energy compensation you will get a read out of true lift not just "stick lift".
Long before you can see the difference from the ground it will indicate if you have strayed into a patch of sink or flown passed a thermal.
I find it very comforting to hear a spoken read out of my battery voltage, altitude and radio link.
A separate Picolario GPS data logger can store in 3D all the details of your flights for later analysis.

Blackbushe Air Show

The Glidermania stand at the recent Blackbushe Model Airshow.

The first flight of Andy Schafer's new half scale Paritech Fox. The big model handled the blustery conditions very well at Middle Wallop Airfield. With a nicely detailed cockpit and very smart colour scheme this is a fabulous model to look at home in the air or on the ground!

I have been using FEMA retract units for many years and have found them to be totally reliable. Properly installed not one has never collapsed on me. made out of high grade aluminium they are a quality product. Available for models in 1/4 1/3 1/2.5 1/2 scale they can also be fitted with a gas spring shock absorber and wheel brake.
Solid rubber wheels are available from 70/178 mm diameter.
